I would have liked to have given 5 stars as the hotel was great. On arrival the receptionist was very informative and friendly despite the long queue of guests waiting to check in. Our twin room was modern with a large bathroom with both a bath and shower. A large TV, two comfortable armchairs and comfortable beds and excellent blackout curtains. A bonus was that the car could be parked within view of the room window. The breakfast was very good, with some items made to order, ie porridge, and a very good selection of hot and cold food, with helpful staff. For a change the toaster produced perfect toast. But we’d booked this hotel for the spa facilities which, for us, were sadly lacking. The pool is too small for both guests and swimming lessons. The Jacuzzi was closed for cleaning and the area noisy and chaotic. The changing rooms were worse. Loads of lockers but no space to change as so small and therefore crowded. They also didn’t look or smell clean. Not at all inviting.

We stayed at the Cambridge Belfry for a spa weekend. The room was clean and comfortable and the well equipped. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was good. I think the spa could do with a little refresh. The changing room could do with a spruce up as its all looking a bit tired.

As a family we discovered this hotel when looking for somewhere to stay for my nephew’s wedding at South Farm, Royston. From start to finish the staff on reception could not have been more helpful reassuring me that all would go smoothly in terms of booking in and out individually and at different times, taxi recommendations, meal times, bedding arrangements for small grandchildren. I arrived a day earlier than my family and Naomi I believe her name is could not have been more charming, welcoming or helpful. Equally the case when Karolina later took over on reception. Whilst Emily and Helen had fewer interactions with me, they were just as professional and helpful on the 2 occasions I needed advice. The rooms were excellent: even the classic is a very good size and comfortably accommodates 2 easy chairs and a coffee table alongside a desk and chair. I’d booked a junior suite for my daughter and family as they needed extra space for their 4 year old and 18 month old: they were blown away by it! As I stayed on for a few days R and R post wedding, I was able to make use of the leisure facilities: the pool is a good size and the sauna and steam room excellent. The weather was glorious and I was able to make the most of the beautiful area outside to sit and enjoy an early evening drink overlooking the Lake. I wish it were closer to home as it is a new favourite!

Brilliant. Booked in for a restful night away on a Saturday. The hotel was well managed and suitably comfortable for 4 stars. On the night I stayed, there was a black tie function near the lobby area. I was carefully directed through to the bar and restaurant beyond. Both have a lovely ambiance. The food was well prepared and quickly delivered (I had the gammon). My serves (Matt and Vinnie) where both professional and at ease, on a busy night. I recommend a visit.

Booked a wellbeing massage at short notice. The venue is easy to get to, and the spa reception was easy to find upon arrival. I was treated this morning by Alana, who was friendly and professional. I mentioned about having some tightness in my neck and shoulders, and she asked whether I'd like her to use some additional pressure in those areas to help relieve the tension. Alana gave a great massage, and I feel better for it. I felt nice and relaxed during and afterward, with the tranquil music creating a nice atmosphere. It was a bonus that the massage bed was heated. Overall, good value for money, and I would recommend to others.

Overnight spa stay with 50min treatment and £35 credit towards dinner. Excellent value Rooms were adequate, the only negative was there was a space for a fridge and no fridge in room 236 The spa is in need of a little TLC which appears to be happening slowly. They have revamped the sauna, but the rest does need doing sooner than later. My 50min back massage with Victoria was one of the best ive had. The evening meal was extremely tasty and very well presented Breakfast very plentiful even cooked eggs to order. So a very enjoyable overnight stay ☺️

Loved my overnight stay here. The staff are lovely, room very spacious and comfortable, great breakfast, and a wonderful spa area with a decent sized pool (15m I think) sauna, steam and jacuzzi. Everything spotless and well maintained. Thanks to Karolina and Helen on reception and the whole team. I hope to return.

Convenient location outside Cambridge with easy parking at Hotel. Great room and very friendly efficient service. Ideal for large reunion.

Helpful friendly staff throughout the hotel,room's very clean along with the restaurant where we had delicious food. Had the most amazing massage treatment with Jo 10/10 and the best ive ever experienced 🥰 Thank you we will be back x

The Belfry is in a good location with easy access to Cambridge. The rooms are of a good size clean and comfortable, the staff are very pleasant friendly d helpful. The gym and spa facilities are excellent and the car park is of a good size and free, all in all a great hotel,

Had a massage by Yolanda and she was brilliant. I felt tension and tightness as I entered, and left feeling relaxed and revitalised. Highly recommend. Ask for Yolanda, she was lovely too

Went away for a break with a friend and it is just what was needed. Used the spa and would thoroughly recommend. The food is really good with a great selection to choose from. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Bedrooms had everything you need and were reasonably quiet and we got put next door to each other as requested. Will definitely return. Plenty of parking and fish in the lake to sit by on a sunny day/evening.

We stayed at The Belfry Hotel for one night in October 2026 on a spa, dinner and overnight package. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the attentive and supportive service. I use a wheelchair, and it broke as I was getting out of the car. We reported this to reception, and within ten minutes Dean from the maintenance team took it away and repaired it while we enjoyed a drink. He did a remarkable job, and I do not know what we would have done without his help. The fault was serious enough that I could not have continued using the wheelchair otherwise. Our spa experience was excellent. The staff were patient and understanding, providing clear directions and allowing extra time for me to transfer. We were also delighted to be chosen as Guests of the Day at check-in, which made our stay even more special and included complimentary drinks. Our room was spacious and easy to navigate in a wheelchair. The only accessibility concern was the bed, which was quite low and could be difficult for some wheelchair users. Dinner service was second to none. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, although the food portions were rather small and overpriced for their size. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

I booked a 3-night stay at the Cambridge Belfry for my birthday weekend from 16th-19th October. We had two rooms - 305 and 310. Prior to our stay we'd requested an early check-in from 1pm. After arriving at the hotel earlier than anticipated, just before 12pm, we asked if the rooms were ready, and one of them was, so we were able to check-in to this one straight away. The receptionist phoned me around half an hour later to advise that the second room was ready. This meant we had more time to use the facilities, so I'd definitely recommend doing this if possible. When checking in, I was also chosen as 'Guest of the day' and was given a handwritten card and two complimentary drinks vouchers to redeem throughout the stay - this was a lovely touch and greatly appreciated! The rooms were clean and very spacious. The temperature in room 310 was on the cooler side, but 305 on the opposite side of the corridor was constantly hot which made the room feel very stuffy! The mattresses in both rooms were comfy, but unfortunately, as another reviewer has mentioned, the bedding/pillows let the rooms down significantly. The stuffing in the pillows was basically non-existent, and the duvets were incredibly noisy - every time you moved, you could just hear plastic rustling! Our sleep quality did suffer as a result of this, which was such a shame for a hotel of this standard. On Saturday morning, I'd decided to treat myself to a hot stone massage, which I'd pre-booked in advance. This was my first time having this treatment and I'll 100% be booking again. Special shout-out to Melissa my spa therapist who was super lovely and knowledgable, she made me feel 100% at ease, checked on me throughout the treatment, and was more than happy to answer questions I had about the process. I have a couple of skin allergies which I'd informed the team of prior to my appointment, and Melissa was really thorough in explaining how these would impact the treatment and whether I was happy with the alternative oils she would be using. This was a wonderful birthday present and I couldn't believe how calm and airy I felt as soon as I left the treatment room! During our stay I also made use of the pool and the gym. The pool temperature was quite cold! It was nice to sit round the pool but the number of loungers is quite limited, and they are very close to the pool edge. Changing rooms were clean with plenty of locker space. I was really impressed with the gym! It was clean, well-equipped, spacious, and really quiet on both occasions I visited. We ate in both the bar and the restaurant during our stay and everyone in my party agreed that the food was absolutely exceptional. Across our stay we tried the steak, the lamb rump, the chicken tikka curry, fish and chips, the cheeseburger, and the chicken club and prawn and avocado sandwiches. The steak on the restaurant menu was absolutely amazing, and the portion sizes were extremely generous. On all occasions, food was served promptly, even during busy times. We also had breakfast each morning which again was brilliant - so much choice! From the traditional full english buffet to continental options such as cereals, yoghurt, fruit, pastries, muffins, etc. there was something for us all. The Saturday night was my birthday meal in the restaurant. After being seated to our table, the lady who was looking after the waiting staff came over and introduced two new waiters named Oliver and Enyo. She explained that that they'd be bringing our food to the table as part of their first shift! They both did a fantastic job serving and were so polite. They checked on us regularly during our evening and Enyo even remembered us the following day when we were eating in the bar, and came over to say hello! The lady supervising them was also so lovely - she remembered us throughout our stay and always greeted us enthusiastically, making us feel welcome. As guests, we really felt as if we were valued and well looked after by the staff here. We really liked the overall ambience of the Belfry. I'm sure things are fast-paced behind the scenes, however as guests we felt the whole place has a very calming and relaxed vibe - which really allowed us to switch off and enjoy every moment of our weekend. The lounge areas are a great addition to the hotel, and we chilled here, as well as in the bar with a drink several times during our stay. The outside area/pontoon is lovely too - although the weather wasn't amazing during our stay, it was nice to be able to pop out and enjoy the lake view. We will definitely be returning to the Belfry, and would 100% recommend to anyone who is looking for a memorable, relaxing place to escape, unwind, or celebrate a special occasion. The Spa deal was amazing! Included some lunch and was just perfect! Demi (Restaurant) and Olivia (massage treatment) were fantastic! Attentive and very friendly! Thank you for such a wonderful experience and service! My massage was just what I needed!
